Abstract
(en) For the years 1986, 1990, 1993, 1996 and 1999 and for either gender, the IBES-BIGE (Belgian Institute of Health Economics) has at its disposal the number of prescriptions linked to 42 therapeutic classes in the ambulatory sector and broken down into 8 age categories. These data allow us to present the trajectory of each therapeutic class on a factorial plane in relation to age categories during the period 1986-1999. Those trajectories are simplified in order to reduce their number and to perceive how obtained trajectory groups behave. These results, in addition to their synthesis quality, can inform decision-making bodies in the context of health economics policy.
