Abstract
An artificial recharge experiment has been carried out to determine the parameters of the aquifer. A distributed-parameter system is then simulated on a hybrid computer, using experimental data as boundary conditions, and the unknown parameters are adjusted iteratively in order to minimize a given index of performance. A parallel and a serial method have been implemented. Requirements and results of both methods are compared and discussed.
