- Abstract
- This article presents Religionsunterricht für alle (RUfa), a religious education course for all pupils that has been offered in Hamburg since the 1990s. This unique initiative is something of an exception in the complex landscape of religious education in Germany. The result of long-term collaboration between different religious communities, RUfa symbolises both the success of interfaith and multicultural dialogue and the embodiment of a consensual course that erases differences. This article aims to present the historical context of this course, its organisation and rationale, as well as some of the criticisms that have been levied against it.
