Abstract
(en) The present study compares the Thomist doctrine of the will in God with the Hegelian theory of the will of the Idea and of the freedom of the Spirit. Hegel's Idea, which, unlike Thomas' God, lacks any truly ecstatic volitional tendency, articulates only the assimilating moment of the self-knowledge of the absolute Spirit. But Thomas does not sufficiently show the link between divine freedom, which Hegel is wrong to deny, and the necessary rationality of divine freedom, which Hegel perceived in depth. Hence an attempt has been made, finally, to decipher the absoluteness of Freedom in conciliating the Thomist projection of possibles with the Hegelian introjection of necessity.
