- Abstract
- The research focuses on the relationship between body and flesh as declined in the context of the 20th and 21st century French philosophy, starting from a peculiar point of view: the controversial reception of Husserl's phenomenology. Specifically, this study proposes a comparison among three philosophical perspectives which, on the background of a critical dialogue with the husserlian heritage, have proceeded to a remarkable rethinking of corporeality: Emmanuel Lévinas, Jean-Paul Sartre and Michel Henry. Each author has in fact contributed to re-modulate the terms of the relation between the subjectively lived body (Leib) and the body assumed in its objective-physicalistic dimension (Körper), on the basis of a phenomenological model that tends to deviate from its original matrices. The common reference to the caress, a fundamental experience to grasp the plot of erotic inter-carnality, turns out, in this respect, to be a crucial place to investigate the intrigue that, at once, links and separates the authors'itinerary.
