Abstract
Introducing a workshop on Syria, this communication has set the context of the Syrian conflict for a wider discussion on the humanitarian dimensions of the conflict. It emphasizes the multidimensional nature of the conflict, highlights the intertwining of local, regional and international actors and dynamics, and underlines the ensuing complexity on the ground regarding notably access to victims.
