More and more students choose to study health sciences. Who are they? How do they perceive their training and their future career? What are their motivations? 1706 first-year students (in dentistry, medicine, pharmacy or biomedical sciences) answered, in November 2011, to a survey developed by the « Centre de développement pédagogique » from the health sciences sector in the « Université catholique de Louvain ». The aim was to understand why students choose to study health sciences. This research can help teachers, administrative staff and counselors to know the students better and therefore to adapt their interventions to this public.
