- [English] Adopting a descriptive perspective, the author of this paper provides first a picture of the linguistic situation of the Lingála language in the spectrum of languages generated in Africa and he points out on which account (morphology, phonology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics) Lingála can be considered one of the languages known as Bantu-languages. In the second section, the paper explores the outlines of the current socio-geographic situation of Lingála: if the birth certificate of Lingála may mention the Congo River central basin (equatorial region) as its origin, the current topographic panorama of this language reveals a remarkable expansion beyond the borders of the majestic river. [Deutsch] In einem deskriptiven Ansatz, bietet der Autor dieses Artikels erst ein Bild der sprachwissenschaftlichen Situation des Lingála im Spektrum der in Afrika hervorgegangenen Sprachen, und er zeigt auf welchen Grundlagen (Morphophonologie, Syntax, Semantik und Pragmatik) das Lingála als eine der sogenannten Bantu-Sprachen angenommen werden kann. Im zweiten Abschnitt erforscht der Artikel die Umrisse der aktuellen soziogeographischen Situation des Lingála: wenn auch der Geburtsschein des Lingala das zentrale Becken des Kongoflusses (Äquatorialregion) als Ort seiner Ursprünge erwähnt, so weist das gegenwärtige topographische Panorama dieser Sprache eine bemerkenswerte Expansion jenseits der Grenzen dieses majestätischen Flusses auf. [Français] Dans une approche descriptive, cet article brosse d’abord un tableau de la situation linguistique de cette langue dans l’échiquier des langues engendrées en Afrique : il indique à quels titres (morphophonologie, syntaxe, sémantique et pragmatique) le lingála fait partie des langues dites bantoues. L’article explore ensuite quelques contours de la situation sociogéographique actuelle du lingála. Si l’acte de naissance du lingála peut faire mention du bassin central (région équatoriale) du fleuve Congo comme lieu de ses origines, son panorama topographique actuel révèle une remarquable expansion au-delà des confins du majestueux fleuve.
