The first texts of Maine de Biran on habit, to which the commentators have paid relatively little attention, reveal some of the characteristics of that which will be held later to be Maine de Biran's classical conception of the body. The A. proposes here an examination intended to be both chronological and thematic through the works of Biran on habit, in order to emphasize this anticipation of future developments.
