Abstract
(en) Two of the main rival theoretical schools of international relations are, to some extent, converging on the importance of the State in the international arena. In such a context, two concepts, "globalisation" and "governance" are stimulating the questionning of the role of the State in the international system. The aim of this article is to clarify on the one hand, the relationship between the State and globalisation, this latter concept defined as a plural phenomenon, and, on the other hand, the issue of the shift from "government" to "governance".
