Abstract
(en) A 43-year-old patient presented to the emergency room due to chest pain, loss of consciousness and an episode of pyrexia. The assessment quickly revealed an infectious pseudoaneurysm of 4.5 cm of the left ventricle apex. The patient underwent emergency cardiac surgery with a large resection of the apical left ventricular cardiac tissues. The surgical reconstruction was performed using a bovine pericardial patch. Associate treatment was targeted intra-veinous (IV) antibiotics, post-operative exercises to recover the ejection fraction.
