Abstract
Gastrocnemius muscles of 150 g rats were minced and orthotopically autografted. The regenerates were examined 15 to 240 days after the surgery. Actin concentrations increased continuously, albeit at a rate decreasing as the regeneration proceeded. Total creatine increased in proportion to actin. The maximum tetanic tension of the regenerate increased linearly with actin. Creatinekinase activity increased as a curvilinear function of total creatine.
