Abstract
This work develops a tight ultrafiltration membrane for high-salinity dye wastewater treatment via the co-deposition of dopamine and L-arginine onto a polyacrylonitrile substrate. The dopamine/L-arginine functional layer imparted a tight structure and tailored surface characteristics, enabling effective retention of dye molecules while allowing the passage of inorganic salts. Additionally, the membrane demonstrates excellent antifouling performance under prolonged operational duration. These results highlight the co-deposition strategy as an effective approach to improve membrane selectivity and fouling resistance, offering strong potential for textile wastewater treatment.
