Abstract
Immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI)-based combinations represent the reference systemic therapy for patients with metastatic clear-cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC). Evaluation of responses via conventional imaging (computed tomography [CT] and 99mTc bone scintigraphy) remains complex because of delayed responses, pseudo-progression, and mixed responses. Prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed not only in prostate cancer cells but also in the neovasculature of malignant tumors, including RCC. Here we describe the patterns of response observed on both 68Ga PSMA positron emission tomography (PET)/CT and conventional imaging in a series of patients with metastatic ccRCC who received systemic treatment.
