(2008) XLVe Colloque de l’ASRDLF. Territoires et action publique territoriale : nouvelles ressources pour le développement régional — Location: Rimouski - Canada (24.August.2008)
(en) The object of the investigation is to analyze the school as an operator of the territorial project, in which a series of interactions and social dynamics between users (children, educating staff and parents), inhabitants of the district, professionals of the city (technicians, administration and associations) and politicians are set up. The objective is to analyze the role of the school and its urban context in order to know the urban practices of the school public and the form of a regenerating territory, as well as the type of city-planning and the urban management of the public space needed for that urban facility. The identification of the territory that generates the school will allow us to understand better the way that urban facility interacts with its near urban context (the district); it also will give us the possibility to a better understanding of the children’s mental constructions on the city.
