- It is shown that, for a given kernel, the choice between the finite linear viscoelastic fluid and the rubberlike liquid is immaterial as far as the stability of plane Poiseuille flow under plane infinitesimal disturbances is concerned. The same result holds for two-dimensional disturbances of Poiseuille flow in a tube and for a Couette flow.
