(en) [Why, when and how to treat malnutrition in adult oncology?] Cancer-Induced undemutrition is termed "cancer cachexia'. This syndrome that is characterized by body weight loss and loss of lean body mass may affect patient survival, quality of life, and therapeutic costs. Early nutrition screening, assessment, and intervention could slow and potentially reverse the loss of lean body mass. Diagnosis of undemutrition in cancer patients is based on weight loss in relation to usual body weight, body mass index, and coverage of nutritional requirements by food intake.
