The specific mass and the conductivity of the molten NaOH-KOH eutectic mixture were investigated between 451 and 723K. The molar volume of the melt increases linearly with temperature. The conductivity of the molten eutectic mixture increases from 0.436 Omega /sup -1/.cm/sup -1/ at 451K to 1.783 Omega /sup -1 /.cm/sup -1/ at 723K. The activation energy for the equivalent conductance diminishes from 5.54 Kcal/mole at 451K to 2.40 Kcal/mole at 623K and remains constant at higher temperature. This behaviour is correctly described by the Vogel-Tamman-Fulcher equation with a /b T/ /sub 0/ value of 288K.
