Abstract
Computer programs are becoming more and more complex and voluminous in most firms. This raises the cost of maintenance. To minimize this cost, qualities must be given to computer programs that assure them a good evolution : reliability, efficiency, flexibility, conformity, ... This cost minimization must be preceded by a diagnosis that can recommend a set of actions to be undertaken in order to improve the software quality. The aim of this paper is the construction of a quality model helping the decision maker in his software maintenance activities. This model will be represented as a set of decision rules displaying actions to be undertaken in order to improve the software quality. This set of rules will be generated using a rough set approach and implemented in an expert system.
