Abstract
Two organotin (IV) compounds, Cy 2NH 2PhCO 2.SnMe 2Cl 2 (A) and 2[Cy 2NH 2PhCO 2.SnMe 2(PhCO 2) 2].[SnMe 2Cl 4(Cy 2NH 2)2] (B), have been synthesized, their ir and Mossbauer studies carried out. The suggested structures are ionic, discrete and contain [SnMe 2CI 4] -, SnMe 2(PhCO 2) 2, [SnMe 2(PhCO 2) 3] - connected by Cy 2NH 2 + through NH-O and NH-Cl hydrogen bonds, the environment around the tin centre being tetrahedral in the component SnMe 2(PhCO 2) 2 of (A), trigonal bipyramidal in the component [SnMe 2(PhCO 2) 3] - of (B)and octahedral in [SnMe 2Cl 4] 2-.
