Abstract
A methodology is presented which uses systems analysis concepts to implement decision-making tools to assist in the management and the planning of agroecosystems at the scale of family to cooperative farm systems. Those decision-making tools consist in dynamic simulation and optimization computer programs that should be used interactively by teams of agronomists, rural economists, systems engineers. The first step in the implementation of such tools consists in the characterization of a conceptual model for the agroecosystem. Also considered are an agroecosystem's mathematical model, the dynamic simulation of an agroecosystem, and multi-criterion decision making.
