- Abstract
- Guidelines for limiting electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure provide protection against known adverse health effects. Biological effects, on the other hand, may or may not result in an adverse health effect. The purpose of this paper is to compare present recommendations for mobilophony with biological effects. The main biological effects are reviewed. Mobilophony fields are investigated, carrier as well as signal. Some attention is given to devices affecting eye, ear, and heart. Pulsed and ELF modulated fields are compared with CW fields. Finally, recommendations are analyzed in detail and compared with respect to biological effects.
