Abstract
The maritime relations between Elam and Mesopotamia in the early to mid-1st millennium BC is still an underdeveloped topic in research, especially waterway transport on the Elam-Sealand route. By studying the Akkadian textual records, this paper aims to shed a light on the hurtles and challenges that traders and soldiers had to overcome to navigate between the Elamite littoral and Southern Mesopotamia.
