Over the past 3 years, a young patient has been suffering from a probably peripheral sensitive disabling neuropathy. An ancient and severe folate deficiency is confirmed, and a diagnosis of celiac disease established. The treatment consisting of a gluten-free diet combined wilh folate supplementation has resulted in prompt improvement of disabling symptoms. The authors recall to our mind the association between folate deficiency and neuropathy, and between celiac disease and neurological symptoms, and highlight the need for an early diagnosis of this condition, which has recently been rendered easier.
