- Abstract
- (en) This study is an attempt to shed light on Henry Bauchau’s literary practice, on what this practice is grounded and what it pretends to build. Through his numerous writings, the Belgian writer aims at restructuring a subject in crisis. The writing in the first person makes this enterprise of rebuilding a reality and constitutes one of the peculiar characteristics of his work. The analysis of the narrative system built by the writer brings to light the presence of a subject who defines himself as a speaking, telling, acting and morally responsible person. It also highlights a fundamental aspect of the subject in Bauchau’s work, who appears first and foremost as a person feeling the pathos of life and trying to turn this feeling into something that can be shared.
