Abstract
The paper aims at dealing with the transformations of the religious landscape of the territory of Norcia and Cascia (PG) between the Archaic and the Hellenistic age and the material impact of the Roman domination and colonization on the pre-existing reality. On the one hand, in fact, a site like Villa San Silvestro shows the ex-novo affirmation of a typically Roman cultic model, closely linked to the presence of settlers and the centuriation of the territory. On the other hand, there is a continuity in the frequentation of the previous pre-Roman sanctuaries, which, although integrating new cultural sensibilities, maintain a certain importance. The situation thus shows a dialectic between continuity and discontinuity that affects the social, economic, and therefore religious structures of the area, the main features of which will be presented.
