Abstract
The LOCI team presented “Metrolab Brussels, the University in the centre of territorial co-operations”, a 20 minutes presentation in two stages whose objective is to present Metrolab LOCI particular methodologies of research. Firstly the presentation of Metrolab as critical, implied and applied innovating tool of research by design in co-creation allowing to meet metropolitan complexity and to have an impact on urban policies. Then concretization of this Metrolab through three research framed by the research centre of faculty of architecture, town planning and architectural engineering LOCI (UCL), namely: - The existing frame as a resource for metropolis manufacturing - Territories of the Brussels’ productive economy, between past, present and future - The matrix of open spaces like metropolitan infrastructure This presentation was a way to put into debate the funambulist position of the urban design researcher in action in the urban production, trying to find an equilibrium in the interdisciplinary process and in the relationships with stakeholders and the academic world.
