(en) [Emergence of an acute psychotic disorder in a patient taking Levetiracetam] We report the case of a first psychotic episode in a 35-year-old Caucasian patient who sustained a polytraumatic brain injury, and who is dependent on alcohol and cannabis. This psychosis occurred three months after the modification of his anti-epileptic medication. The symptoms completely disappeared following the withdrawal of the Levetiracetam medication. We reviewed the literature regarding the causal link between Levitiracetam and psychosis and concluded that it may have played a precipitous role.
