Presents the main aspects of research carried out into the behaviour of conventional turbines reconverted to provide simultaneously heat and power supply. The problem is considered in the context of saving energy. The adopted approach is briefly described with the calculation methods related to each step. Two machines are fully studied and the limiting factors in the thermodynamical, aerodynamical and structural ranges are pointed out.
