Abstract
This paper focuses on diversification in careers and occupational trajectories of knowledge workers. It clarifies the concepts of occupational groups, careers, and trajectories in the labour market, and addresses the theoretical debate concerning organisational versus boundaryless careers. Results of case studies carried out in the European WORKS project are presented and discussed. The conclusion develops the link between value chain restructuring and changes in in careers and trajectories.
