- [Net, sex and rock'n'roll! The potentialities of a tool like the Internet and its influences on teenagers' sexuality]. Since the Internet is enduring a tremendous growth among families; youngsters are, hence, more and more entitled to use the latter media for school, information, and leisure purposes but also for sexual matters. This article is an attempt through a literary review to look for all kind of influences Internet might have on teens' sexuality. Some risks are inherent and might emerge by experiencing its sexuality via the internet (e.g. compulsive sexuality, perversion, over-sexuality), nevertheless, some risks are also to be taken into account with regards to health, as for instance the lack of prevention. Youngster's depression is said to be directly correlated to a certain sexual traumatism due to the Internet. However, it is advised to remain cautious as for the results and their reading as well as the causal effects that stems from it. Beside, Internet is also, thanks to its accessibility, confidentiality, as well as the great deal of information offered, a fantastic communication and educational tool. It is, therefore, of prime importance to not devilish its use but rather to implement efficient means of protection for the youngsters, which does not deny the utter panel of such media. Parents, Health, and Educational professionals have on their side an information role, which is not to be omitted. In order to tackle it at best, it's recommended for them to be previously trained to matters such as sexuality and communication techniques. Why not using this marvellous tool in order to reach youngsters looking for answers to their questions or ways to fulfil their temptations? Other prospective studies settled in the long run will indubitably reveals many more outcomes concerning the benefits and drawbacks of the Internet on teens/youngsters. © 2006 Elsevier Masson SAS.
