Abstract
Numerous materials have been used to reconstruct the tympanic membrane and restore its mechanical and vibratory properties with varying degrees of success. If endoscopic ear surgery is to be considered "minimaly invasive", it must avoid any unnecessary incision or scarring. The biomaterials currently used insurgery, therefore, have their place in this recent approach to ear surgery.
