- (en) Social protection systems have developed in a context of industrialization, in support of a productivist economic model, which, in turn, reinforces them. The ecologic transition imposes a reexamination of basis and functioning principles of such systems. The eco-feminist movement proposes stories and narrative forms that renew the reading of the origins and foundations of productivism. These stories allow the outline of a different set of proposals for an ecological transition that rehabilitates the continuity between nature and culture, respect for a planet with limited resources, “feminine” considered knowledge, work, cognitive modes and values, as well as the territories and populations of the global South. They lead to an examination of the elaboration of social security systems under the “commons” model, based on the ethic of care, which responds to new environmental risks (extreme heat, hunger, epidemics), and support an ecological transition that limits human impact on the planet.
