- (en) Five manuscripts usually considered to be witnesses of the Grandes Chroniques de France (Bibliothèque nationale de France, fr. 2605, 2609 and Smith-Lesouëf 74 ; Châteauroux, Bibl. mun., ms. 5 ; and a manuscript now split between Toulouse, Bibl. mun., ms. 513 and Bibl. nat. Fr., nouv. acq. fr. 21876), are in reality five copies of a work expressing new intentions with regard to the classic work of French historiography from Saint-Denis. The article emphasises the specificity of this work, provisionally entitled Abrégé Paulin Paris, which rewrites and abridges the Grandes Chroniques de France, from the Trojan origins to the accession of Charles VI, adding episodes drawn from the Récits d’un ménestrel de Reims and the Chronique des rois de France by Guillaume de Nangis.
