Abstract
Cycloaddition reactions between 5-CMP 1 and various vinyl ethers and vinyl sulphides, catalysed by the Yb(OTf)(3)-Binol complex, afford bicyclic lactones 3 in moderate to excellent enantiomeric excesses.
