Abstract
(en) Most 13th century Latin Bibles are portable Bibles produced in Paris and other towns hosting a medieval university. These manuscripts were intended for personal use and their dimensions also made them ideal preaching tools for the mendicant friars. This volume explores the production systems of these Bibles, their material and paratextual aspects, as well as their use, with a focus on the different technical solutions devised to miniaturise the Bible.
