Abstract
(en) Method: Randomized parallel groups prospective trial to assess the efficacy of nursing follow up of alcoholic patients during treatment with acamprosate, versus unfollowed group (control). Duration of 26 weeks with visits at week 1, 2,3,4,6,10,14,18,22,26. 100 patients were randomized and allocated to one of the two groups. All of them took at least one dose of acamprosate. Results: 50 patients belong to each group F and NF. These patients constitute the analysed sample on an intention to treat basis. A general model on CAD was carried out in examining all the above main effects together and their interaction . Conclusion: This result confirms the key influence of a support to the patient, and in particular on some subsets of the populations: Patients alone (not married, or living single, divorced), male patients more than female, patients not belonging to Self Helf group
