Abstract
(en) This article describes a particular type of collective gift called nomus. By this term, the inhabitants of the Shimshal valley of the Karakoram refer to the gathering of resources and work force to make a collective building in the name of someone. The description of the assemblage of people’s actions shows that the circulation of the gift depends on people’s relations with their landscape. The nomus are thus similar to the maussian gift while remaining singular.
