Abstract
What are the criteria for conceiving and accomplishing a legitimate change in the Church? This paper explores three historical examples or case-studies: the Council of Nicea (325), the Reformation of Luther (1517), and the book "Vraie et fausse réforme dans l'Église" of Yves Congar, o.p. (1950).
