Abstract
(en) Neuroblastoma is a common malignant tumor in young children. Several therapeutic researches are ongoing, whether at the angiogenic, genetic, or immunological level. Nevertheless, the prognosis of high-grade neuroblastoma remains very poor. Using new therapeutic modalities poses the risk of new side-effects, along with new relapse locations. We report the case of a young boy who presented brain metastasis during treatment, an uncommon relapse feature. The current treatments that have little effect on the central nervous system may likely change the well-known pattern of neuroblastoma relapses. It is essential to develop specific follow-up protocols for these patients, along with new therapies targeting this metastasis site.
