Abstract
Drug induced lesions constitute an important factor, the incidence of which is probably underestimated, of hepatic pathology. Their detection and early etiologic diagnosis fall within the domain of daily, clinical practice and is particularly important for prognosis. Even if the exact physiopathology of many hepatic lesions remains largely unknown, important progress has been made in the identification of mechanisms leading to observed tissue lesions. The epidemiological data, the mechanisms implied in drug toxicity and the questions relevant to clinical practice are reviewed.
