- Nüshu, interpreted in Chinese as "womens script", is currently the only known female-specific script in the world. This script circulates in the Xiaoshui Valley, which is part of the Hunan Province in China, and is located at the intersection of three provinces (Hunan, Guangdong and Guangxi) and three counties (Jiangyong, Daoxian and Jianghua Yao Autonomous County). The script is a product of the blending of the Central Plains culture and the Southern culture, and is a hybrid of the Han style and Yao customs.
