Abstract
Intra-aortic balloon counterpulsation (IABC) can improve post-myocardial infarction (MI) outcomes, but the mechanisms of such effect remain unclear. We hypothesized that IABC augmentation reduces the extent of microvascular obstruction after acute infarction.
