Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) have been developed as a power source for portable electronic devices, particularly mobile phones and laptop computers. However, current lithium-ion batteries based on organic liquid electrolytes have limited energy density and safety problems. Developing high-performance quasi-solid and solid-state electrolytes is important for improving energy density and safety of lithium-ion batteries. The objective of this thesis is to design and synthesize innovative polyrotaxane based networks for lithium-ion battery. The solid polymer electrolyte and catholyte based on novel polyrotaxane containing networks is obtained by altering the length of the polyether crosslinkers. In order to further improve the ionic conductivity of solid polymer electrolytes at room temperature and the corresponding electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries, the ionic liquid is introduced into two different types of polymer networks to obtain high performance ionogel electrolytes. Therefore, selecting the appropriate polymer structure is essential for enhancing the electrochemical performance of lithium-ion batteries.
