To ensure road safety, it is important for drivers to maintain a certain comfort. Our work focuses on improving driver’s experience by keeping the cognitive load and stress at levels that do not interfere with the primary task of driving. We used a custom-made driving simulator as our testing platform and evaluated participants’ emotional state using the electrodermal activity. The goal of this study is twofold. The first objective is to determine the time it takes for most participants to physiologically adapt to our simulator and by extension, give a method for others to determine this time. The second objective is to find a way to discriminate participants that might be too indi- sposed by driving a simulator by investigating the correlation between the motion sickness susceptibility questionnaire and the self-reported simulator sickness using the simulator sickness questionnaire.
