Abstract
A fast iterative solver is presented to analyze large random arrays made of identical elements. The technique exploits the macro basis functions (MBFs) to represent the currents on the antennas. Furthermore, those MBFs are supposed to be the same on all antennas. This feature accelerates the exploitation of the fast multipoles method in that the radiation patterns of MBFs are the same on each element.
