Abstract
Microwave remote sensing is based on active and passive techniques. Synergy in the inversion procedure is possible. It is shown how unified retrieval algorithms for radar and radiometric measurements may be developed for the particular case of the atmosphere and ocean. The method is based on a microwave model for emission and scattering of the rough sea surface.
