Abstract
Women with a bipolar disorder are particularly fragile during their pregnancy and are likely to experience depressive, maniac or mixed episodes. The management of such episodes is often complex as well for the general practitioner as for the psychiatrist or the gynecologist. The treatments regularly used to treat the bipolar disorder must be carefully handled. Indeed, how to efficiently treat the mother without cost to the child? This review discusses the risks and benefits related to the use of the current treatments during the pregnancy and, on this basis, some advices as well as a decisional tree are proposed.
