Abstract
Following a systematic analysis of the fluctuation events in order to determine their diurnal and yearly distributions, a study of a more theoretical nature has been undertaken in view of predicting the effect of fluctuations on satellite communications. For that purpose a model should be useful to simulate the fluctuations on an Earth-space link. This is the first objective in this study. The second one is to spectrally analyse both fluctuations and attenuation events. The slope of the spectra and the corner frequencies are examined.
