- (en) One re-reads the encyclical "Rerum Novarum" (1891) of Leo XIII in order to assess its relevance and dynamics, to detect its limits too. One measures then the distance between this encyclical and the apostolic letter "Octogesima Adveniens" (1971) of Paul VI.
